I am on Zoloft for GAD and it seems to help, but there are time when I still get bad anxiety and I will take a muscle relaxer when needed, but I do like to try natural approaches first such as sitting down and doing some deep breathing, playing a game, crocheting, or even answering stuff on this site. When all else fails I take some Simply Sleep and knock myself out, cause when i wake up i feel alot better.

Either go to a Dr and get anti anxiety drugs or try taking some of the over the counter remedies for anxiety. I think Kava Kava and St. John’s Wort are some good ones. I recommend seeing a Dr though. They have lots of medicines to treat anxiety. If you are having attacks then its serious so its best to see a Dr.

Deep breathing is probably the only thing, I know what they’re like horrible, until I knew what they were I thought I was having a heart-attack, also counselling maybe work out your triggers and develop a strategie to overcome them. I know an anxiety attack is triggered for me if I’m tired, having trouble sleeping and I start thinking about death, and when I have an anxiety attack I really feel as though I am dying, when the breathing doesn’t work, I get up and do something, watch tv, read a book or something crafty, anything to occupy my mind. Hope it helps, good luck.

Doctor says no cure for anxiety attacks. It’s only yourself who could cure it. In case anxiety attacks you, condition your mind to relax, sit down, breath slowly, inhale from your nose and exhale from your mouth. Think of the good things you have done. And the most important is DON’T PANIC since anxiety attacks will not kill you.
