Walden University program on mental health counseling is now accredited by the Accreditation Council and accredit the Board of Education Programs (CACREP), an independent accreditation body by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognized Master’s degree in preparation consultants. Walden is the only institution that MS CACREP accredited online degree provides mental health counseling.

Walden MS program in mental health counseling, introduced in 2005, was designed in accordance with CACREP standards. The accreditation is required to confirm intensive measures of self-and peer reviews that the program meets these standards.
