Question : Can asthma problems also cause snoring?
My friend who grew attached to me told me the other day that I snore. While he was cleaning the downstairs bathroom, I was on the couch watching TV, and I fell asleep, and I am a very light sleeper, and did not hear him come upstairs, and when he was done, he woke me up, and told me to wake up, and I told him that I was not sleeping, and he said to me that I was because he could hear me snoring, and I told him that I was wheezing, and he said that I was snoring. Therefore, was I snoring, or was I wheezing, and does asthma cause snoring?

snoring is caused by a partially obstructed upper airway, whereas wheezing is cause by a partially obstructed lower airway. Snoring is usually more pronounced breathing in, wheezing is usually present both breathing in and out. the snoring should cease when you awaken, but you will still wheeze even after you wake up if its wheezing.

EDIT:regarding the two answers below.. asthma is a disease of the lungs. snoring and obstructive sleep apnea are diseases of the upper airway. Asthma DOES NOT cause sleep apnea. (regardless of what wikipedia might say)
